I think this is probably one of the first recipes I recall learning as a young girl. It is easy and delicious and children love to help make them with you of course :-)
Whole Wheat French Bread (pictured: whole wheat hoagie sandwich rolls)
Cut bread in half lengthwise
Spread favorite pizza sauce
sprinkle cheese
and toppings: cut spinach, bell peppers, onions, fresh tomatoes, pepperoni, etc. (really load them up with toppings because they shrink a lot in the oven).
-Bake 400 for 15-20 minutes until edges browned and cheese melted. Serve with steamed vegetables and salad.
-You can also do this with whole grain pitas or wheat bread, etc.
I forgot about this option for dinner. I think it will be a shoe in for next week!
